Only Way Is Up Right?

I’ve been quiet for a few weeks and left blogspot behind to focus on things here at home but I’ve come to the conclusion that the only way up from real life issues is to well..deal with the and move on.

Most of you know the situation with hubby and his plant closing down last July. We’ve cut back on things here and there, anticipating how things would change over the next year but you come to take some things for granted in life..like insurance and well paying jobs that are harder to come by. But we’ve crawled out of holes before and so we shall again. At least we both have jobs now and a roof over our heads right? Now on to more inspiring things…

Snow is said to be headed our way again Tuesday in the form of a BIG snowstorm. By big here, I mean 10 inches. I can’t recall when West Tn had 10 inches of snow last so if this storm stacks up to what they say it will, the whole city will shut down. As much as I long for the big flakes to fall every Christmas, I have to say I’m sick of the snow now. We haven’t had a lot at one time but we’ve had more than usual this yr. I can’t even imagine living in places like Chicago or New York where it’s been storm after storm after storm already. If you’re like me, you long for Springtime temps and the idea of little buds appearing on the blooming trees. Some people say February is the depressed month.. the month where more people find themselves feeling the doldrums of Winter weather. I concur. Let’s get some happy colorful shots in now.

Hubby & I took a drive to Davy Crockett Lake last wknd while the weather was unusually warm. (in the low 60’s!) These days you take advantage of it when you can because it can change at the drop of a hat. lol

I couldn’t resist this old car on the way to the lake.

The Canada Geese were out and about and honking their heads off. Maybe they knew the good weather wouldn’t last for long.

The lake was calm and the skies were cloudy. Only 2 boats on the water this day. There’s not a lot of things to do at this lake unless you fish but it makes for a beautiful backdrop for picnics.

This Summer we’ll go back and maybe throw a pole in and see what bites.

Ummm, I've noticed you had been quiet. I want you to know that I am thinking of you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. My husband was out of work last year at this time and it is scary beucase you never know when the next job opportunity will come along. I tried very hard to trust that God had a plan and would take care of us and HE has!
hugs to you!

Hi Kim, I've wondered where you were. Sorry to hear about your situation. This economy has done a number on so many families. I'm so sorry it has happened to you. May God be with you and your family.

Beautiful pictures.. I love the reflection in that last one.

Hugs,
Betsy

TY Tracy & Betsy. You are exactly right Tracy. God has a plan for us all. Sometimes we just can't see it right away. ((hugs))

I think about you all the time, I mean, good gracious girl, we've been typing back and forth for 5+ years now. Can you believe it's been that long? Ya'll are going to be ok, I just know it. I understand it, though, Kimmy, as I've been that route before, too, and it's scary. Stand tall; good things are on their way.
That car photo: wouldn't you love to know the story behind that? I can almost see an entire book about it. Great shot; all of them are great shots. When I saw the cardinal, my mind immediately went into my cat-blog mode and all I could think of was a photo of my Sam saying, "Did I hear that right? Cardinal for dinner?" Ohhhh, that's sooooo bad.
Love and hugs to you, sweetie,
XOXOXO

OH, meant to tell you: I was just watching the 11:00 news and for this coming Thursdays there were 2 forecasts. One module said 1.5 inches of snow and the other said...14.5 inches! Unreal. I guess Wednesday will be a grocery store day for the entire city again.

OK, I am secretly hoping that storm system heads north after going through west TN. Like you, I "like" a bit of snow once or twice in a winter... you know, the snow that melts off the roads and is gone the next day? The 8" we had back in January stuck around for weeks! I have had my fill of the fluffy white stuff too, and like you, can't even imagine living in the high North and having this go on and on for what seems like forever every winter. Ugh.

Thinking of your Kimmy and sending up prayers that things will be OK.

You guys mean the world to me.. thank you so much for just being you. :)
Jenny I hope the 14 inch forecast is just a glitch for you! I'm definitely making a trip to the grocery today. Bread and milk will be gone by Tues. morning lol

Hi Kimmy,
tried to comment earlier, but it wouldn't let me. Hope your bad weather, doesn't turn out too bad. We are hoping no more snow this winter, but think we may be disappointed. Yes it is sometimes very hard to see the plan God has for us, I guess that is where trust comes in. Can relate on the job front, my son in law, is again being laid off next friday, he is a carpenter and the job has finished. We are hoping and praying there will be another. They were just getting back on their feet after the last long spell of unemployment. Guess things are tough for lots of people everywhere and very unusual happenings too. Take Care - Hugs Nita.

As always, your pictures are just awesome. I hear you about the shop closings. We had quite a lot of it in this area the last few years, causing many family member the same trouble. Pray things will turn around for all soon.
